Learning Kits for First-Generation Learners

Notebooks, stationery and a school bag can decide whether a child feels ready for school. We plan to provide complete kits to children who need them.

This project is at the planning stage. It is not running yet. Timeline, location and funding details will be confirmed and published here before it starts.

The challenge

The cost of notebooks, pens and other basics adds up quickly for families on low incomes, and children without them can feel left out in class.

Objectives

  • Provide complete, good-quality learning kits at the start of the school year.
  • Prioritise children identified through our learning circles and community partners.
  • Distribute kits respectfully, without publicity that compromises children's dignity.

Who it is for

School-going children from families who cannot afford basic learning materials.

What we will do

  • Transparent sourcing of materials with receipts published in project reports.
  • Distribution through schools, community groups and learning circles.
  • Simple feedback from families on what was most useful.

Results & impact

No results to report yet. Results will be published here once the project is running, together with how they were measured.

Updates & reports
